Pricing
Two ways to use Astrea: chat in the browser, or the API in your own apps. Chat starts free every day. The API bills by what you actually use.
Chat
No account, no card. Open chat.altworld.io and start writing. Your allowance resets daily.
Sign in with your Altworld account and chat on the same candles you play with — subscriptions refill them monthly, and top-ups are instant. Balance shows right in the chat.
What's a candle? Altworld's currency — the same one that powers turns in the game. Plans start at $3.99/month and every account gets some free; manage yours at altworld.io/menu.
API
| Price per 1M tokens | |
|---|---|
| Input | $0.20 |
| Output | $0.80 |
The API is prepaid: create a key at altworld.io/developer, load credits with your card ($5 minimum), and every request debits exactly the tokens it used. No subscription, no monthly minimum, and credits never expire. Keys run at 60 requests/min — if you need more, email astrea@altworld.io.
Quick answers
- What's a token? Roughly three-quarters of a word. A long chat reply is about 500 tokens — so a dollar of output buys around 2,500 of them.
- Do I need a card? Not for chat — 30 turns a day are free, and members chat on candles. The API is prepaid: $5 by card gets you roughly 25 million input tokens or 6 million output tokens.
- Running it yourself? The weights are open: Astrea on Hugging Face, Apache-2.0. A single 24 GB GPU runs it comfortably.
